Description

A scale Radio Controlled model of the historic P20 SA-16B Grumman Albatross. Built entirely from scratch, the finished model featured retractable gear, fine riveting detail, and both video and still cameras inside.

Wingspan: 93 in.

Wing area: 854 in. sq.

All up weight (including camera and video system): 12.25 lbs
Removable wings, dual 3-bladed props, brushless outrunner motors.
LED navigation lights, retractable gear.
Wireless video camera in nose and still camera in the belly.
Retractable landing gear details.
Custom made prop hubs, cast epoxy from latex mold.
Landing gear retract mechanism.
Typical surface layup: balsa covered with 3/4 oz. glass, filler, rivet, prime, paint and weathering.
Original paint concept and blueprints, wiring solution, and retract drawings.
